My God, GIVE ME EO4 NOW!!!
(And I'll take BTL, too, as well as the Great Wars dungeon crawler while we're at it.)

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I'd buy it, but somehow I doubt we'll get a Gundam/Ultraman/Kamen Rider Crossover Dungeon RPG in the US.
I read a little about Beyond the Labyrinth's storyline a while back, and now I'm really interested in it. The battle system seems a bit confusing, but hey, it's Tri-Ace, it comes with the territory.

You never know: strange things happen when there isn't enough software to go around on a new-ish platfor. Of course, the biggest problem will be the mixed licenses, which has torpedoed far higher profile games.
As for EO4, I'm not sure how I feel about the transition to polygonal *everything* as, of course, they actually look worse than the 2D monster graphics, etc., in the previous titles.

A ton of 3DS news this AM (from that Nintendo conference), but the highlight is this fanboys' wet dream:
So, basically, tw of three of my all-time favorite pubs getting together to do a game which can only amount to...an unmitigated trainwreck.

I'd be more excited about that if there were, you know, the slightest indication as to what it is. I mean, it could be anything from Street Fighter X Tekken X Virtua Fighter, a Tales/Shining Force/Breath of Fire crossover, Monster Hunter meets Phantasy Star meets God Eater (Hunt Monster Gods In Space), or even a Brain Training game with Sonic, Pac-Man, and Mega Man.
Oh wait, that last one would never happen. Capcom wouldn't make a new Mega Man game.

My guess is it's a Mario/Megaman/Sonic mash-up, which pretty much would have been my dream in 1989.
Also: let's get real: Nintendo isn't stupid enough to announce something like this, whip the fanbase into a holy terror frenzy, and then turn out that it's a Mario vs. Sonic vs. Megaman Pachinko X Mahjong game.

In other news, New Love Plus (3DS) is #1 this week in Japan, beating out Binary Domain by 30k copies or so. Even worse, it boosted 3DS sales by about 30k units over last week. Sigh. (Yeah, I know, this is nothing new, re: Tokimeki et al, but it still makes me crazy.)

I guess this game (the namcoxcapcomxsega game) is being developed by Banpresto in paritcular which, by and large, is a good thing (they have a very, very good crap versus good game development ratio for pretty much their entire history).

And because I have lots of better things to do and I'm not doing them, I'm thinking this is going to be an SPRG and a sequel, of sorts, to NamcoXCapcom, if only because Banpresto has A LOT of experience in that area, and Namco published that previous mash-up.

I think I'd be okay with that, assuming we actually get it over here this time around. Also, I hope they make better choices for characters. Picking Bruce McGivern and Fong Ling to represent Resident Evil is like having Mon Mothma and R5-D4 represent Star Wars.
Also, I've heard Namco X Capcom was kinda dull, so hopefully it won't be this time around. But Sega characters in a crossover SRPG...maybe we'll see a return of Real Shining Force characters.

It's mainly dull because it's too easy, not because it's literally dull.
The killer is (stop me if you've heard this one before) that after you beat it once it opens up a harder mode that's a lot more interesting.

Well, up until the other day, Banpresto had been turned into the redemption machine arm of BAMCO (after they were bought out several years ago), so I'm a little unclear as to what connection is, unless they're merely using the name (although, that would tend to imply we're looking at NAMCO X CAPCOM X SEGA, in my mind, since Banpresto is inextricably linked to SRW et al).
As for Banpresto's game dev teams, they were absorbed into BAMCO proper, but who the hell knows if the Banpresto badge means anything at all, except as a subtle hint at it being a SRPG.
Edit: and of course I should point out (tho Zig probably knows this) that Flight Plan was its own entity, and only developed and/or had games published by Banpresto when Banpresto was an independent company.

This might be terrible, but given that it looks like a super well-animated Guardian Heroes...:

There's a Crush demo up on the eShop if you didn't play it on PSP already.
