A topic we have discussed before, so far which would you say are your favorite games of this crappy console generation? The ones that stand out and truly deserve a mention? Games that you are sure you will remember in the future in one way or another.
Demon's Souls
In many ways this is the exact opposite of what this generation has been doing. No QTE's, no excessive cinemas, no duck-and-shoot or other gimmicks. Challenging (yeah, even if the bosses are mostly easy) and full of replay value.
Valkyria Chronicles
Good combination of SRPG and real time action, decent story, great presentation. A shame the sequels are going only to the psp, this is a franchise i prefer to play in a bigger screen.
Bayonetta
THE action game of this generation, even with it's obnoxious QTE prior every damn boss battle.
Other games worth a mention
The World Ends With You
One of the few games where i felt the touch screen of the DS was properly used.
Bionic Commando Rearmed
A remake done right, sucks that other franchises given to western developers haven't turn out this good.
Bioshock
I know FPS nerds look down on this game, since it's not very hard (even without the vita-chambers) and i guess it doesn't have the name "valve" glued either. I replayed a bit of this the other day and found myself liking it once more. The only thing missing is extra content (no, i'm not paying 9 dollars for it)

Top 3:
Demon's Souls: (Duh.) Far and away my fav game this gen.
Muramasa: if you haven't played this, you probably think Bayonetta is the best action game of this gen.
Monster Hunter 3: 350 hours into the game so, yeah, it deserves at least the third slot.
Honorables:
Dragon Quest IX: best DQ game ever? It would be if the MP was online but, since it isn't...it still might be the best DQ game ever.
Shiren the Wanderer: thank you, SEGA, for actually porting this...too bad about not porting the newer one (and this one is much better than Shiren 3 on Wii or PSP).
Thunder Force VI (not really this gen, hardware-wise, but...): vastly, vastly underrated, semi-hated, homage/super fan game that anyone that has ever even liked the series needs to play. Now. I'm not kidding. Get on it.
Soldner X-2: the best shooter released this gen on any platform, including all the Cave stuff (which I like, but not nearly as much as I once did because, frankly, I'm sick to death of danmaku). Tons of replay value, beautiful graphics, fantastic music, and my (non-superhuman reflex-possessing1) friends can actually play it and not give up 15 seconds into the game a la Cave's milieu so, basically, everything I love about shooters wrapped in one game. (The best shooter on 360 is Raiden 4.)
Note: for those that don't know, I am a massive, massive fan of shooters. In fact, I regularly lament their (essential) death at the end of the 32-bit era and now all we're left w/ is Cave's stuff, which only caters to a tiny slice of the gamer market (and before anyone gets on me: I own *PCBs* of several Cave games, can 1cc *tons* of their shooters, etc., so I do *not* hate Cave--Hell, I own a Japanese 360 just to play some of their games when they weren't actually coming out here--I'm just so very weary of bullet hell shoot 'em ups.)

Soldner-X 2 is that good? Really? I played the first one and after defeating the first boss i never touch it again.

It is *nothing* like the first one. The first one feels like a throwback to '80s Euro-shooters on Amiga or maybe, best case, Project X-2 on PSOne.
The sequel, however, is a first-rate, Euro-looking/sounding but Japanese-playing, super shooter.

Ok, i'll check it out then. I had several problems with the first one, starting with the game being too worried about looking pretty. Also, the ship was very tiny and sometimes i will miss it on the screen.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed it for what it was: a throwback to '80s Euro-shooters on Amiga or maybe, best case, Project X-2 on PSOne.
Beyond that, it was pretty banal though it had some good ideas (which are much, much better-implemented in 2).
