I'm thinking about the question, but uh... And Furthermore And in conclusion (And if you're confused by all the in light of my game choice below, all the are in reference to Zig's brave admission (and secret shame).) Edit: thought of one! I've never gotten around to playing Earthbound. When it was new, I had no interest at all in it, and I've simply never made the time, even all these years later, to finally just go through the damn thing once and for all. But I will! Someday! I swear! Just not today. Or tomorrow. Or next week/month...but maybe next year! Perhaps! After all, it's Nessesary 1 if you want to be considered cool...by nerds...which kinda makes it, well, not cool after all. 1 Yeah, I did it--what of it!

There are probably hundreds of games I wish I'd played. There are also dozens that I wish I'd finished!
At least I can live vicariously through ECM and have played every good game ever AND be ripped!

Bumping this because I *know* feilong has a list the length of his arm (and he's pretty large), but he's probably too afraid of the repercussions for posting it.

Well thanks to our ever persistent ECM, who acts sort of like the "angel"* on my shoulder when it comes to being a well read student in the fine art of interactive entertainment, I'm not that ignorant. Thanks to him, I've played Pokemon! Yep.
Let's see:
One big one that I'm about to tackle, is Ocarina of Time. I beat the first dungeon on Virtual Console so it doesn't really count as not played, but since that game is basically made for me, and I love Zelda, it is kinda ridiculous that I haven't played it all the way through. Ditto with Majora's Mask. I basically missed those two and jumped right into Wind Waker. Happily the pimped out 3DS version of OoT will be a great excuse to scratch that one off the list.
Other than that....
Mario Games? Check. Played em' all except Mario Sunshine, so I'm good there.
Super Metroid is a biggie. One of the classic SNES experiences and I missed out. Sad face.
Hmm... (ECM LOVES to act like I haven't played anything! But when I try to think of all time classics that I've missed, that I actually feel bad about, it is, well, kinda hard!)
I suppose Earthbound, but it is hard to be ashamed of that, because how the heck did I know it would be a huge cult classic?
Hmm...
A bunch of Genesis stuff, since I never owned a Genesis. AND YES ECM I HAVE PLAYED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL SONIC THE HEDGEHOG.
When it comes to FPS, yeah, I go all the way freaking back to the super primitive stuff that Romero/Carmack were doing, like Catacombs 3D and Hovertank, to Wolkenstein, Doom, Quake, etc. This puzzles ECM, because how could I then like Halo!?!?!
I have largely missed out on the whole WWII FPS genre, until the past couple of years. Not really ashamed of that.
Ah, ok, I can think of one finally! Resident Evil. Would have really dug that back in the day.
*I'll let him wallow in that irony!

Yeah, he's tricksy one, that feilong XD
(A little sugar helps the bitter medicine go down and all.)
And, yeah, let me tell ya: I cannot grasp how someone that was weaned on good games can like a really, really bad game, re: Halo. (Someday I'm going to lay out precisely why Halo, in relation to those others games, sucks...just not today, though I think we've had a chat about that at least once in the past.)

Hah, well I did that because ECM likes to act like I haven't played anything!
As to the Halo thing, that is one of those "pota-TOE, po-TAH-to, let's call the whole thing off" deals between ECM and I.

So many people need to play Earthbound...I wish Nintendo would find a way to make it available to a wider audience, but they seem dead-set against re-releasing it.
I'm having trouble with this question too...I guess playing games from an early age and living near a good rental store kept me covered on all the early stuff. I've played all the main entries for series like Mario, Zelda, Mega Man, Resident Evil, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy (well, except FF14, but nobody will fault me on that one)...
I guess I missed some PC games. Never played any Civilization (other than the SNES port), barely touched Starcraft or Diablo 2...only got a level or so into Deus Ex. I'd really like to try System Shock 1 or 2.

Definitely find time for System Shock 2 and Civ 4 and 5 are pretty awesome (though I think 4 is probably, overall, the better game).
And, yes, Diablo 2 but, at this point, might as well just wait for Diablo 3. In the interim, check out Torchlight: 1P-only but, man, I played it one weekend for about 40 hours, starting Fri night and going through Sun night.

Phantasy Star 4.
I also second the notion to jam on Torchlight. It's a whole pile of awesome.

I'm not ashamed of not having purchased any of the newer consoles, but it's unfortunate that I probably won't get the chance to play Bayonetta, as it seems right up my alley.
I don't think I've ever gotten around to trying Target Earth. Unacceptable for a self-professed NCS/Masaya fanboy.

Ooh, man, yeah: I love Target Earth and it's definitely one of my favorite NCS/Masaya games as well as the best in the series, as far as I'm concerned. (That ending, to this day, is probably the best I've ever seen in any game, at least on 16-bit and down.)

I think one of the reasons I haven't been in a rush to play it is because I've already played and enjoyed Cybernator, and a lot of people make it seem like TE is so inferior to that one that going back to experience it would basically be pointless. But your words have convinced me there would certainly be a point.

I think the alleged inferiority stems from the fact that the graphics (and overall presentation) are much, much less impressive, but the overall game is much, much better.
