Almost nobody here outside of jbob007 cares, but I wanna talk about this, darn it!
So with today's win over the Indians, the Detroit Tigers will win the AL Central Division sometime this month.
This will be the first division title since 1987! They had a wildcard berth in 2006, and lost the lead in the final days to the Twins in 2009.
Credit goes to general manager Dave Dombrowski who seems to have a talent for finding under appreciated gems that really come through. Doug Fister could be a solid #3 starter for years and Delmon Young was simply highway robbery (thank you Twins, for gift wrapping our #3 hitter for years to come for us; I hope you enjoy the ham sandwich you got in exchange).
It has been waaaaay too long since I've enjoyed baseball when it was meant to be watched: on national television, in crisp, fall air, in October!!
Happy Rob is happy!

Dude, I'm delirious about the Lions right now. Stark, raving mad delirious. I can't believe that they may finally have a good team in my lifetime!

The nice thing about barely being into sports is it's one less thing to get dejected over when your team implodes part-way through the season.

Eric is the friend you bring to games to go get hotdogs.
"I hate sports"
"Sweet, then you won't mind going for a beer and dog run, muahahaha"

Too bad for you: I *love* the ballpark experience, so I'm about the last guy that's going to volunteer to get your $15, watered to within an inch of its life, 'beer' and $9 hot dogs.
