30 day weigh in/measure in occurred today.
I had been doing intermittent fasting, but this past month I started doing cyclic keto, as outlined by ECM (see his leptin resistance post).
I dropped another 4.5 lbs this month, but more importantly my body fat percentage went shooting down as well. I'm now as lean as I have been in the past 4 years, since late 2007 at least.
I'm slowly rebuilding myself, and it has been great fun doing so (yes, I said fun!).

The moral of this story? ECM is awesome. (And Rob is a genius for listening to the awesome.)

Essentially what I'm doing is right out of "how to be successful 101:" emulate someone else who is already at where you want to be.
But the difference between you and brand x famous guru is:
1. I'm confident that, while you were probably never fat fat fatty, you were at LEAST NORMAL and not naturally buff/thin like a huge proportion of folks in the fitness industry (due to self-selection). <----- this is IMPORTANT. If you were just naturally lean, you would have no insight at all.
2. I've done enough self-experimentation over the years that what you have to say, including the stuff that runs counter to what you'd find on brand x health website, was true. Thankfully I was already in a place where I wasn't trusting the mainstream advice. Although what is funny is, as far as refeeds go, you find lots and lots of gurus actually do just that, even if the formula is slightly different. But there is this bizarre, infantile thinking in the fitness world that normal people cannot handle something as "complex" as cyclic keto, so they revert to an overly simplistic "calories in, calories out" paradigm. Now, CICO is basically true except that it does not take into account the bodies almost magical ability to down regulate your metabolism, which is what the refeed day is designed to counter. If only I had known this before!

Whatever it takes! I'm just thrilled you listen! (And perform!)
(Unlike, *cough*, some people!)
