Why is this game coming until September for the ps3? Also, feel free to post any comments if you already played this one. I know it won't live to any possible expectation, Rez being one of my all time favorite games.

I've played Child of Eden extensively.
You have to wait for PS3 but I understand your cost will be even less than the budget price the game already has on Xbox360.
It IS very similar to Rez in how it plays, but it adds a 'tracer' quickshot, so maybe consider this to be more like Panzer Dragoon now without the front/back/left/right change view ability.
In terms of atmosphere and music it is considerably different from Rez. It is much lighter and poppier-- if you understand electronic music styles/genres it is closer to house and some styles of trance as opposed to Rez's dark techno and ambient. I'm generalizing but that's the gist. The new tracer and octo-lock (full lock-ons released on the beat) complicate things a little, but to complete it is easier than Rez. It is designed more for repeat play with better completion rates even than Rez is.
I really liked it and still play it quite a bit. After you complete the campaign once, you unlock HOPE mode. This mode is pretty much just like Rez. An obvious nod to fans of the previous game and the hardest thing on the whole disc. I have yet to complete this mode.
