...I present to you this fun little site, jam-packed with all sorts of 16-bit era Japanese gaming info: Awesome?Enjoy! (Personally (and I'm sure runinruder will agree), I found the images of Batman on PCE, before it became a 'maze' game, of particular interest, even though I actually love the final version; Zig may, however, quibble w/ the apparent complete absence of anything Wolf Team-related; fei will scratch his head, look confused, then go back to playing EDF:IA, the greatest game ever, beats joke to within in an inch of its life, etc., blahblahblah.)

Geez, a guy can't even bleed a joke dry w/o someone getting upset about it.

Haha! I like the cut of this guy's jib: he has secret pages (Pro-Tip: click the PCE GT screen) nested within his over-arching URL (and you can't get to any of them from the root domain). And some more poking around reveals that I've seen his stuff on the 'net, albeit at other locations, such as the Axelay SGX demo, which also confirms that, for good or ill, he'd fit right in w/ the rest of us.

Yep, Covell has dug up some really neat stuff over the years. I think my favorite of his "discoveries" was a screen from an early version of The Legendary Axe (when it was called "Jungle King," if my memory serves me correctly). I'm not sure if it's on that site.
It's funny that you mention sidescrolling PCE Batman and then Zig/Wolfteam... I'm sure it's just me, but those Batman screens kind of remind me of the magnificent El Viento.
Glad you're with me in digging the PCE Batman we did get.

Speaking of Legendary Axe, Astyanax (the arcade game) is pretty damn good, too. The NES version/loose port never did much for me, though.

I wonder if this guy was a JET. He was commenting about being in rural Japan when most gaijin are in Tokyo. JET is the best english teaching program, but the big cities usually go for cheaper services (like the now defunct Nova). So JET will probably place you in a rural area.
