Yeah, that's what I thought. A friend of mine confirmed it physically and answered at almost the exact same time you did, Fei.
That blows. I will have to pay twice as much for one that works on my console. Hope its worth it!

so what is your situation? There's a Euro sku coming out on the 22nd, and the Japanese sku is already out. Do you live in one area, but have a console that is region coded for another?

Correct. I'm a resident in the USA, but own a JPN console. I weighed the availability of Cave shooters against the occasional USA title that wouldn't work-- that is, most USA titles are NOT region-locked even ones released by nominally Japanese companies. No Sega or Capcom game made for the USA has failed to boot.
But 'little' Japanese companies, like D3, Genki, or Koei/Tecmo routinely lock their titles here. So I've had to buy import versions of EDF2017and Shutokou Battle X.
I was rather hoping the USA-developer for EDF:IA would obviate the region-coding in this case.
I have access to a USA Xbox360, but it is my kid's. It's in HIS room and that won't work for late-night bug-blasting sessions.
