...released on July 5th!
And thanks to it be being the greatest game ever released on July 5th, all my local (read: within 50 sq. miles because I'm in the middle of nowhere) stores are sold out!
So, yeah, I played it for 15 mins w/ a friend who wisely, in hindsight, pre-ordered it and, well, I can't tell you much because I only played it for 15 mins. But I do like that the game actually feels solid and responsive, something that you generally can't say for Sandlot's iterations of the series (but they are still fun!).
Anyone else have any thoughts on the greatest game ever released on July 5th that aren't named fei?

Can someone who has A LOT more time on their hands dig up whether the Xbox 360 (sorry ECM) for the USA is actually region locked or not?
Old EDF games certainly were, but considering the developer maybe this one isn't. Since I'm in the same boat as everyone else and no local copies are around, I'd like to resolve this issue before going through the hassle of ordering the damn thing.

*responds with Storm 1 Armor outfit on* Sorry, I'm fairly sure that this is indeed region locked to the US.

I think so too. But I'm trying to be sure. Usually Play-Asia or the uptights at Shmups! are hip to what works and what doesn't, but this doesn't seem to have appeared on anyone's radar yet.

I can find out for sure, but it looks like all the devs I know aren't around online atm. I'm 95% sure it is though, because they put out SKUS for the EU and Japan as well as the USA.

If you can track that down I'd be really grateful. I have this question posed a few other places, but I'm not optimistic.
I know there are different country versions, hence the SKUs but it isn't common for American makers to region lock their games for Xbox360. So for instance I have a USA region copy of SSIV Arcade Edition. It is in English and has the Western naming conventions for Bison, Vega, et al.
But it'll run in ANY region's Xbox 360 consoles. PS3 owners avoid this problem. And with MOST American games, the typical is to be like SSIV and not region-lock. But every now and then, particularly on small Japanese companies, they lock it up. Usually this is done in anticipation of another publisher releasing it another country. But when it will be the same publisher or a simultaneous release, they don't lock 'em.
EDF:IA is a puzzler. American dev, Japanese-based publisher. D3 notorious for region locking, but simultaneous release.
So I don't know. Could go either way. I just want to know before I mail order it!

Mostly, yes. There are a few games that only run in 576i which means you'd be hosed unless you have a TV that can sync to that (which is hit and miss).

So, how about Xenoblade? As in, whatever Europe is calling it.

Xenoblade runs in 480p, but it also appears to be coming out here, so it's kinda moot depending on the release time frame in NA.
