BELIEVE!:
Regardless if you think (as do I) that Mega Man fans are mostly a bunch of mentally ill, disturbed, misfits (hi Matt!), this fan-made 'remake' trailer is awesome.

How can I not trust a dev team featuring Freddie Mercury and Hatsune Miku? Regardless if you think (as do I) that Mega Man fans are mostly a bunch of mentally ill, disturbed, misfits (hi Matt!), this fan-made 'remake' trailer is awesome. To be fair, I'm generally a Mega Man Classic fan, and in my experience most of the nuts are in the MMX section. Anyway, the trailer makes this game look pretty good. I like that they're keeping the visual style similar to the originals (in sort of an uprezzed PS1 style), that's likely what we would have gotten from Capcom, and I'm sure it makes the development easier. Still, I always have to be a little confused when I see fan projects of this magnitude, with the same amount of time and effort, they could have made a wholly original title, which could have been sold and wouldn't be under the constant threat of C&D. Perhaps they're hoping to pull a Street Fighter x Mega Man?

If they're thinking anything at all, maybe it's that CAPCOM can't take much more negative PR at this point and that will buy them some leeway?
(I'm not saying this is rational--after all, CAPCOM hasn't been run by rational people in a very, very long time--but that might be what they're hoping, if they're thinking this through at all. Which they probably aren't.)
